1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 The Message
And regarding the question, friends, that has come up about what happens to those already dead and buried, we don’t want you in the dark any longer. First off, you must not carry on over them like people who have nothing to look forward to, as if the grave were the last word. Since Jesus died and broke loose from the grave, God will most certainly bring back to life those who died in Jesus.
Jesus came to give us life more abundantly according to John 10:10. He made it clear by stating what the thief (satan) does, he steals, kills and destroys but Jesus gives life in abundance.
The life in Christ is abundantly powerful that it will raise billions of believers from the dead. Life from heaven came to earth and life from heaven will come again at the sound of the trumpet when we who are alive will be caught up and the dead in Christ will rise from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:26, The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
Life is greater than death in God’s kingdom, for the believer life is what we are all about. Jesus said whoever believes in Him rivers of living water will flow from him.
John 7:38-39
On the final and climactic day of the Feast, Jesus took his stand. He cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me.” (He said this in regard to the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were about to receive. The Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.) And they shall see his face; and his name shall be written on their foreheads. And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will be their light; and they shall reign forever and ever.
This water of life flows from the throne of God by the agency of the Holy Spirit. In essence on the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit was is poured out on the church and it spread from there to the whole world.
Notice to be saved we must believe that Jesus rose from the dead …
Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
John 15:4) Jesus said “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” 5) “I am the Vine, you are the branches.”
April 2025 Prayer for Victory in the Spiritual War we fight.
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6 being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.
We are in a Spiritual war not against flesh and blood of ourselves, or of others. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God when we submit ourselves to God and resist the enemy’s influence in our lives. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Christians have to be filled with and lead by the Holy Spirit for them to be effective in this Spiritual War. It is the responsibility of every believer to take every thought captive to obey Christ. The first step when we engage the enemy is receiving strength and power from the Holy Spirit. The second step is crucifying the flesh and taking every thought captive.
We all will die, as Christians we can choose to die everyday, not in the physical but by crucifying our flesh and deciding to follow Jesus. Mark 3:27 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.
If believers are bound they can be plundered and ruined by the enemy. If we bind the enemy we can plunder his goods and his house, which is hell. We fight against the gates, the rulers of hell, when we are a good witness for Jesus, a living sacrifice committed to serving Him.
Let’s pray for the fellow believers to be set free from all that has them bound. Pray for the backslidden church to humble themselves repent and turn back to Jesus. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide our church and to lead us individually that we might not give in to the desires of the flesh. Pray we can be His witnesses wherever we go. Pray against the principalities of darkness that are at war with America and pray their influence be diminished to nothing, pray their followers be converted, and pray that they would loose power over institutions from those in government, to financial institutions, private companies, and criminal organizations. Pray against the principalities that have deceived people to be sexually immoral. Pray against spirit of death that has brought curses on this nation through abortion and violent murders to be defeated, that Americans would uphold the sanctity of human life and come against all forms of the destruction of life. Pray God would heal the division between people, that God would heal division in families, in churches, and in our government. Pray against rebellion (witchcraft), and idolatry (stubbornness).
